Ephesians - Read & Reflect
The Wednesday afternoon small group is currently studying Paul's letter to the Ephesians. We are using the book   Encounters with God: Ephesians
by Henry Blackaby as the basis for our study.

Everyone is welcome to join us at 1 pm in the Gathering Place (May 1, 8, 15, & 22).

Books are available for purchase (which can be used for your own personal study if you are unable to attend the group). Cost is $12.

We are also encouraging everyone to read through Ephesians this month. Click on  Ephesians for the schedule . Join us on our Members and Friends of Marshall Memorial Facebook group for daily reflections on the readings.

If you are not a member of this group, email                  judy.vanduzer@hotmail.com   to join.

Representative Needed
Are you interested in representing Marshall on the new Regional Council which replaces the former Presbytery? This is an opportunity to work in the wider United Church community. Leslie Johnston, our former Presbytery rep, is interested in sharing the position with another Marshall member. The council will meet up to 3 times each year but we have been assured that some form of livestreaming will be available to cut down on driving. The first meeting of the Council is May 24-26 in Port Elgin, Ontario. For more information please contact Charlotte at stewchar01@gmail.com.

EVENTS

Marshall's Men
On Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m. Marshall's Men will meet at the "Egg & I" restaurant for breakfast, after which we'll take advantage of the Hamilton "Doors Open" program (free admission) to visit:
- Fieldcote Museum:  Opening day for their new exhibition "Stories from the Edge", a celebration of Ancaster's history.
- Griffin House National Historice Site:  Enerals Griffin, an African-American born in Virginia in 1790, journeyed to southern Ontario and established his family farm in the Dundas Valley.
If you would like to attend this outing, please notify Dave Putnam ( dputnam@cogeco.ca).

Wesley Dinner
Thanks to a wonderfully generous donation from the UCW, the expenses for all food items have been covered for the Wesley Dinner in May.  However, we will still require about 8 volunteers to help prepare, serve and clean up after the dinner.  It will be held on Sunday, May 19th.  We will be participating from 2:30-6:30 (or 7pm).  If you are willing and able, there is a sign up sheet posted in the church foyer or contact Linda Craig at 905-648-1671 or craiglinda9@gmail.com.
