Last Two Weeks to See
the Williamston Theatre's "Doublewide!"

Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, is proud to announce the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of Doublewide by Stephen Spotswood. Performances begin Thursday, March 22 and run through Sunday, April 22. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 27 at Noon.

Jim Starkey's version of the American Dream is a modest one: to build a home on his one-acre plot of land and replace his doublewide trailer with something that he and his wife Sharon can leave for their daughter Lorelai to inherit.  When a highway expansion project shatters their plans, Jim and Sharon have differing plans on how to make their dreams come true, and Lorelai has to consider what kind of future to build for herself. A heartfelt and funny exploration of how far one family will go to hold on to their dreams... and each other. (Contains Adult Content/Language)

Performances for Doublewide will run from March 22 through April 22 on Thursday, Friday
and Saturday evenings at eight o'clock and Sunday afternoons at two o'clock. Starting March 31, a three o'clock performance will be added to the remaining Saturdays of the run. The first four performances of Doublewide, March 22 - 25, are Preview performances where audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance. The Official Opening Night is Friday, March 30 and the Conversation Sunday for Doublewide is Sunday, April 15th.

Please note there is no performance on Sunday, April 1.

ESTATE PLANNING AND PRESERVATION

Rolling over an IRA from your previous employer, sound challenging, not really. Most of the time it just takes a few strikes of the pen on some new paperwork. If your previous employer has informed you that you need to move your 401K or IRA do it. It is very important that you take care of their request immediately. Recently we have run into a few clients who have put it off and the company has the money in those accounts over to the state where they are hold the funds in their escheated fund. With all the different options for retirement money we can help you find the spot where you will be comfortable keeping it.

Play-a-thon for the Parks Set for
May 19

Friends of Williamston Parks announces a new fundraising opportunity for kids of all ages to contribute to the new playground and have fun doing it. The Play-a-thon for the Parks is a daylong event on Saturday, May 19 at McCormick Park in Williamston. From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., it will feature food, music, special activities and nonstop play.

Kids are encouraged to secure pledges for the number of hours they plan to play through The Get Movin' Crew website ( www.thegetmovincrew.com). Prize drawings will be held for those that register online and those that achieve the individual goal. The largest donation from each age group will be recognized as well. It is open to all kids, no matter age or school they attend. Donations also may be brought to park on the day of the event.

The fundraising effort will kick off April 13 and run through May 26. While any amount is welcome, FOWP has set an individual participant goal of $75 and an overall goal $15,000. All proceeds will go towards a new playground at Volunteers Community Park next to The Commons.  While the kids are playing on May 19, parents, caregivers and other volunteers can assist with the Friends of Williamston Parks' annual park clean-up day.
