Decision Maker Update
We're ramping up our communications again with SCDOT leadership, including the 9 SCDOT Commissioners (the folks who will vote on our policy) and the Secretary of Transportation!

We're excited about our progress so far including discussing:
  • Adding proactive language and elements to SCDOT's design manual
  • Improving training opportunities for SCDOT staff
  • Starting a Systemic Pedestrian Safety Analysis - this will allow them understand the full context of risks on our roads.  This approach seeks to prevent future crashes, rather than only reacting to crashes that have already happened.
These discussions are still in the works, and we are excited about the progress we are making!  Stay tuned for more details soon!
