Alberta saw a year-to-date weakening of the housing market in the first quarter. Unabsorbed inventory levels remain at 5,395 units which is the highest it has ever been. Total year-to-date residential unit sales are down 9.7% compared to last year. Similarly, the average sale price continues its decline, falling 4.5% compared to the previous year. Total housing starts decline 17.6% when compared to 2018. The following table provides a snapshot of key indicators for Alberta regions.

She will address the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance to discuss provisions to the budget. We are working closely with CHBA National to ensure our industry is well represented.
