SPECIAL EVENT:

Technology in the Early Years
From remote schooling to video calls with grandparents, young children are engaging with digital technology like never before. While this shift presents incredible opportunities for children’s learning and development, it also raises concerns about appropriate uses of technology in early childhood.

This free one-hour online event will offer support to families, early childhood professionals, and community members as they navigate the “new normal.”

Register now to participate in this webinar featuring early childhood professionals, parents, and digital media experts who will explore how intentional and appropriate use of technology can:

  • Support healthy child development
  • Promote early learning and early literacy
  • Encourage social-emotional development
  • Create quality, continuity, and equity in children's learning

Early childhood professionals who participate in this live webinar are eligible to receive a certificate for one hour of continuing education approved by the Nebraska Department of Education.

About the Superintendents' Early Childhood Plan
The Superintendents' Early Childhood Plan is a groundbreaking initiative that represents one of the nation's most innovative, comprehensive approaches to reducing achievement gaps for children from birth through Grade 3. It is built around intensive, continuous, and evidence-based services for children living in high concentrations of poverty in the Omaha metro area. The plan was developed by the Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska in partnership with the 11 school districts of the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties. The Buffett Institute continues to facilitate implementation of the plan, which is largely funded by the Learning Community.
