Improve Your Bone Health  with Yoga

Blueberry Gardens' owner and yoga practitioner Deborah Boggs is one
of two yoga teachers offering
a special workshop,
Yoga for Bone Health and Osteoporosis. The  next session is Saturday, April 14 at
Willow Street Yoga
in Takoma Park.

Osteoporosis is a silent disease that weakens bones, often resulting in fractures.

Recent studies indicate that yoga, when practiced the right way, can build bone mass and help prevent fractures. This workshop is designed for anyone who want to build healthier bones and reduce risk of fractures, as well as yoga instructors with students concerned about bone health. Prior yoga experience  is not required.

Deborah and Carol Mermey, a specialist in yoga for seniors, share insights about bone health, osteopenia/osteoporosis, daily movements that are safe and those that are risky. Practice a 12-pose yoga sequence developed to combat osteoporosis, and discover safe ways to strengthen bones.

The session at Willow Street Yoga is set  for 1 to 4pm, Saturday, April 14. The studio is located at
6930 Carroll Ave.
Takoma Park, MD.
Cost: $45, $40 for seniors 65+.

Relax with Reflexology!
Reflexology is a modality of massage and body work that emphasizes stimulation of nerve endings on the hands, feet, and ears. These reflex points target specific organs; massage and pressure to these points provide a deep relaxation experience and additional benefits, such as improved circulation, digestion, and pain relief.

Michele Dean provides Reflexology services at Blueberry Gardens Healing Center. She received her certification from the Institute of Integrative Therapies, the Claire Miller Seminars in Integrative Reflexology.

An advocate of holistic health practices, Michele utilizes Reflexology to stimulate the body's systems for optimal wellness. She has a passion for wellness with the intention of creating a positive impact on the overall health of others.

To schedule a session, Michele can be reached directly at Michele.Dean@BlueberryGardens.org  or 443-820-5587.
