Golden Bear Regatta

This years event presented challenging conditions with gusty breezes, but consistent winds on Sunday made for an excellent regatta!

The event drew more than 240 sailors from high schools all over California. With over 64 Flying Juniors racing in Clipper Cove the competition was fierce! Our very own, The Bay School in San Francisco, finishing top five in their division. Congrats!!

SF Social

This spring we partnered with SF Social bringing sailing to the masses!  We provide the boat, and a certified coach so you and your friends can learn to sail and compete in races.  Clipper Cove is the perfect environment for learning to sail in a fun, safe atmosphere.  So far we have had a blast with this league and with the warm weather approaching, we look forward to a fantastic season.   LEARN MORE

Volunteer
Rewards Program

We acknowledge the importance of giving back to our communities. Some of us get involved with TISC to meet new people and others to sharpen their skills.  Some people are passionate for the cause, while others may volunteer to learn how to sail. For the later, we have created a Volunteer Rewards Program. Whatever the motivation, all are welcome!
TISC Volunteers with a minimum of 16 hours of service:
  • Can utilize TISC's programs and fleet
  • Can trade their hours equal to hours of instruction for any of TISC's courses or rentals
  • Must adhere to TISC's progression of courses and boat usage policies
  • Must complete volunteer hours equal to any course or rental prior to any reservation
TISC will reserve 25% of its courses for volunteers per availability. Volunteer hours are non-transferable unless in the case of a minor to whom the volunteer is a legal guardian

Opening Day Volunteer
April 21st is less than a month away and we are still looking for volunteers to help showcase Treasure Island Sailing Center and to celebrate National Safe Boating Week.

Staff Spotlight
We would like to  introduce
and welcome our
New  Program Manager
Laura DeFelice !

Laura comes to us from Lake Merritt Boating Center where she coordinated and taught hands-on science programs, youth sailing, and adult sailing programs in the heart of Oakland.

She learned to sail on San Francisco Bay as a deckhand/educator on Scow Schooner Alma where she developed a passion for sailing, outdoor education, and National Parks.

Laura is excited to blend her passion for sailing and recreation while contributing toward our mission of exposing everyone to the world of sailing and safe boating.

She knows first hand how the world of sailing can open many doors and opportunities to a young person. Laura is thrilled to be a part of the TISC team and share her experiences with our youth and sailors alike!
