STREET LIGHTNING COMES TO CAMPUS

Family of Christ was happy to welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning's Street Lightning program on campus March 28th. Students in 2-8th grades were taught the fundamentals of the game while receiving their own hockey stick and ball.  Students also received a "Lightning Playbook" teaching students the game of hockey while learning STEM based principles using hockey concepts.   Students enjoyed it so much that they made the Street Lightning staff thank you cards.

A special shout out to Coach Kyle for coordinating this awesome activity!

STANFORD ACHIEVEMENT TESTING

Starting Monday, April 9, Family of Christ Christian School will begin the Stanford Achievement testing for First- Eighth grade students.  These tests will provide a measurement of academic growth for your child this school year as well as allow us the opportunity to evaluate and update our curriculum.

Family of Christ will receive the Stanford results during the summer. All parents will receive a copy and a copy will become a part of your child's permanent record.

In order for your child to be at his or her best, it is ESSENTIAL that your child:

·Arrive to school on time.  Once the testing has begun for our students, the building will be locked until testing is finished.  Late arrivers will have to wait until that morning's test is finished in order to join their class.

· Is well rested EACH night

·Has a healthy breakfast each morning.  There is no chicken biscuit that week (Not listed on order form).

·Relax and encourage your child to do their very best

All of our teachers recognize the importance of these tests, so there will be NO HOMEWORK assigned that week.  Enjoy the down  time with your child.

Thank you for the team work in making this a successful experience for our children.
