April Notes of Interest

Picture Day
Spring pictures are being held this week. All Infants and Siblings will have their photo taken on Tuesday, April 3rd. All Toddler/Twos and Preschoolers will have their photo taken on Wednesday, April 4th. If your child is not able to take photos on his/her scheduled day, he/she may take a photo on the opposite day. (There will not be any retake days.)

Chick-it-Out
The chicks are coming again this year! We pick up the eggs on Tuesday April 3rd. You will be able to start viewing them in the lobby on April 4th! 



Teacher Appreciation Committee
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7th - 11th! Each year we rely on YOU to help us show how much we appreciate the teachers who help your children learn and grow each day. Please watch for further information on ways that you can help shower our teachers with love!

Plastic Bag Donation
We are running low on plastic shopping bags. If you have any extra ones at home, feel free to donate them to your child's classroom. They come in handy, especially when sending home messy clothes. Thank you in advance!

School Age Day
 
We will be hosting a school age day on April 2nd and April 20th.  Please let us know if your child will need care on those days.

Enjoy a night out on February 10th. Children ages 3+ have the opportunity to watch a movie and use their artistic abilities to create a masterpiece of their choice! Free play activities will be set up for children under the age of 3 years. If you have any questions please ask the KKLC Leadership Team.

Loose Parts Donations -   

We, at Katie's Kids, would like to keep utilizing loose parts in our classrooms throughout the year.  Therefore, we are inviting parents and families that are interested to keep the supplies coming!  If you choose to donate you can drop the materials off at the front desk at any time!
  
Be sure to look through our center for how the loose parts are being used within the curriculum!

Getting Healthier...
At Katie's Kids Learning Center, we are committed to providing the best possible nutrition to you and your family.  We hope you enjoy the following recipe: 
 
Title : Parmesan Yogurt Dip w/Carrots 

Ingredients:

2 cups plain low-fat Greek yogurt

1  small garlic clove, peeled and minced

Juice and grated zest of 1 small scrubbed lemon (or 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice)
half a cup  grated Parmesan cheese
  salt and pepper to taste

1 bunch (or bag) baby carrots 

  
Directions:
  1. Put the yogurt, garlic, lemon zest and juice and Parmesan cheese in the bowl and mix well.
  2. Add salt and pepper until it tastes the way you like it. Dip the carrots in and enjoy!
Note: You can substitute any vegetable of your choice for the carrots
