A mission trip is, at its core, a time of personal sacrifice to serve others in need. We do this in the name of Jesus, to fulfill the mission of Jesus throughout the world. It's a way to gain perspective on others' situations and a way to put faith in action and share the love of Jesus with all whom you encounter.

Prepare to have your heart changed!

What is our experience like?

We're partnering with Richfield UMC and others for a great experience together. We'll travel in 15-passenger vans with trusted adult chaperones. On the way out, we'll spend some time in Chicago and spend time in Detroit to do social justice tours and geocaching.

$375 Full Price (already subsidized by some mission funds)

$325 If you work the Parking Lot Fundraisers

$300 If you work the Parking Lot Fundraisers AND attend LYFE Camp (that's right, you can attend both amazing summer ministries for a combined cost of only $575 or nearly 30% off!)

WHAT IS MOTOWN MISSION LIKE?

Motown Mission is an urban mission outpost in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. Based out of Metropolitan United Methodist Church, this mission specializes in economic disaster recovery. Throughout the week, you'll experience:

Work Teams sent out to different jobs, from home repair to gardening
Work Days where you get your hands dirty
Evenings to with group time and social time
A mid-week "Fun Day" led by Motown Mission staff
A week in the large and amazing Metropolitan UMC with bunk beds
Some free time to relax, do your own thing, or go out as a group for geocaching, touring, and other opportunities
Work with local partnerships to get a sense of the "all hands on deck" nature of trying to recover Detroit after declaring bankruptcy
Week 8 of 8, meaning we'll likely bat cleanup on many projects and (hopefully!) see them through to their conclusion
