StudentProtect App Launches, Connects Users Directly with Law Enforcement

A new app that allows students, parents and staff to report threats and suspicious activity directly to local law enforcement has launched. 

The app, called StudentProtect, a collaboration between the School District of Palm Beach County, District Police Department and  Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, has the ability for the user to dial 911 and have the exact GPS location of their mobile device sent to first responders. Celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-11

Since 1984, the National PTA has designated one week in May as a time to honor the men and women who use their skills and passion to educate our children.

Register Now for a Summer of Sunshine and Smiles at a District-Run Camp

Summer is near and now is the time to begin enrolling students in summer camps. The School District of Palm Beach County's Afterschool Programming sponsors summer camps that offer sunshine, smiles, and safety, making them the summertime place to be.  

District summer camp programs are available from June 4 to August 3, 2018.

Enrollment is open for children between the ages of five and 12 at more than 60 district-operated elementary school sites throughout Palm Beach County.

TED Talk: A Tale of Two Teachers
Dr. Melissa Crum is an artist, education consultant and diversity practitioner who works with many educators in urban schools. She noticed that many teachers had challenges teaching and relating to students who did not share their same cultural background, so she worked with a museum educator to create an arts-based professional development series that helps educators think about how they are thinking about their diverse students. Her personal story and professional practice work together to tell a creative, inspiring, and eye-opening message that everyone must hear.

Apply Now for Controlled Open Enrollment, Applications Due April 30

The application window for Controlled Open Enrollment in Palm Beach County Schools is now open.

The District offers parents and guardians the opportunity to apply for their child to attend a school through the controlled open enrollment process.

While no transportation will be provided for these programs, families from outside of Palm Beach County and the schools' regular attendances zones are eligible to apply to schools that have availability for enrollment. Read more...

Kid Safe Day Event Includes Bike Helmet Giveaway
Up to 600 helmets will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis on April 7 by Safe Kids Palm Beach County, a non-profit dedicated to keeping children safe. Each child who receives a helmet will also receive a free t-shirt from Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County. Learn more...
Replica Columbus Ships Arrive in Jupiter, School Groups Welcome

On Friday, April 20, the 'Pinta' and the 'Nina', replicas of Columbus' ships, will open in Jupiter.  The ships will be docked at Harbourside Place, 200 US-1, in Jupiter, until their departure early Monday morning April 30.
