Construction News

East Broad Way - Lovettsville:
We are kicking off another rehabilitation project with a bang.  This quaint single-family home is in the heart of Lovettsville.  We'll have opportunities for volunteers and teams to repair areas of the home and shed.  We anticipate getting started in the next couple of weeks.

St. Charles Square - Sterling:
Rehab of this townhouse is in full swing.  A fresh coat of paint, new floors and doors throughout have transformed this property.  We will begin installing fixtures and cabinets in the upcoming days.  The dedication for this home is June 1 - click here to read more.

Beechnut Road - Leesburg:
One final touch will be made to wrap up this home repair for our elderly homeowner.  We'll secure the final ramp to the entrance of her home to allow full wheelchair access from the driveway to inside her front door.

What is a Home Dedication?
A Home Dedication is the celebration of an excited family receiving the keys to their new home.  It is a moving event that brings people together to celebrate the hard work and determination of a deserving family realizing their dream of homeownership.   The dedication ceremony is also a chance to thank the many people from our community who came together to help make the construction/renovation of each new home a success. Home Dedications are always open to the public and we invite to be a part of this momentous occasion!

Albert is a local Vietnam veteran that suffers from several medical issues resulting in his need for a wheelchair.  Medical bills have prevented repairs and changes to his home to accommodate his wheelchair.  His wife, Curiva attends to his medical needs while she supports veteran groups, social service organizations and her church community.  When asked how she handles it all she replied simply "I just love helping  people."  This spring, we are leading the charge and partnering with other organizations to make critical home repairs to provide Albert and Curiva a safe, accessible place to call home.  Please consider supporting our repair efforts through this year's Give Choose campaign between now and May 7 through this link.
