GENERAL
FEED THE STUDENTS
Now through winter break, the cafeteria is offering curbside pickup for a FREE breakfast and lunch every school day from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. Come to the Gate 3 entrance before Basswood where the line forms outside the gym. This program is open to any student 18 and under and recipients do not need to be enrolled in PVPUSD. No pre-order required. All meals include an entrée, choice of milk and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Menus are at pvpusdschoolnutrition.net.
 
PLUS LEADERSHIP
Join Pen's PLUS Leadership student led virtual support group TODAY at 1:00 pm. It's a place where students may discuss distance learning concerns, share ways you are overcoming DL obstacles and break into study groups. To RSVP or if you have questions, contact Mr. Daley at [email protected].
 
AP EXAM REGISTRATION  
AP examination forms and payments will be collected next week during a drive-thru, drop-off event from Monday, Oct. 19 to Friday, Oct. 23 ONLY. Bring your completed form, payment and school ID card. Fill out only one form no matter how many exams you are taking and write one check or exact change cash for all the exams you are taking. Checks must be made out to PVPHS AP with the student's name in the memo line and do not staple the payment to the form. The fee is $100 per exam; AP Seminar is $150. If you fail to make the drop off, there is a $50 late fee per test. Forms and payments will not be accepted early, only at the drop off. The drop off schedule is as follows:

AGENDA BOOKS
If you haven't picked up your agenda book or one was missing from your Spirit Pack, come to the Main Office during school hours to pick one up. Agenda books are also available for sale at $10 each (check or exact change cash).
 
PANTHER CARDS
You can get discounts at local eateries and businesses and help the PVPHS athletic program and our Athletic Booster Club at the same time when you purchase a Panther Card online or by mail. Valid through the end of 2021, Panther Cards are only $20 each or 3 for $50. Pay online with a credit card here or mail in your check made out to PVPHS ABC along with the form you may download here. Everybody wins!
 
PTSA MEMBERSHIP
Join the PTSA and support the valuable work it does for Peninsula. Two of its fall programs, the Reflections Arts program and mock elections, are adapted to an online format so students may still continue to participate. Other programs are in the process of being adapted to an online format as well. In addition, the PTSA provides teacher start-up funds to augment distance learning needs through the Classroom Supply Fund. Support your PTSA and join today by clicking here.
 
COLLEGE CAREER CENTER
COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE SERIES CONTIUES
The 2020 Virtual College Knowledge series continues TODAY at 6:30 pm with a Cal State University overview by Cailin White of CSU Dominguez Hills. Cal State colleges are public universities that share the same governing board, but differ by size, location, majors and number of commuter students. Registration is required and may be done here. HOBY LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
Attention sophomores-if you are interested in applying for the Hugh O'Brien Youth (HOBY) leadership seminar next summer, come to the informational meeting TOMORROW, Oct. 15 at 3:00 pm. Students who attended the seminar last year will talk about their experiences and answer questions. Register for the virtual meeting here or visit the CCC page at Pen's website. Applications are due Monday, Oct. 19 and may also be found on the CCC page.
 
VIRTUAL COLLEGE REP VISITS
The CCC has scheduled virtual college visits through November. Two to three schools will be combined per visit and PVPHS students are expected to have cameras on during the entire event. You must register on Naviance in order to attend. Included in this week's visits are: University of Redlands; Loyola Marymout; Washington State; Pitzer; and Scripps. CLUB CHARTERS OPEN
Interested in starting a club? The chartering process is now open and will be completely online. Click on this link to get the club information packet including guidelines and deadlines. The link to the online form to submit is here. Deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 23.

LGBT UNITED CLUB
The LGBT United Club has created a TEAMS page to help everyone stay in touch during distance learning. Everyone is welcome to participate. SWIM CLUB
Students interested in joining Pen's swim club should contact Coach Katie Draffen at [email protected]. You will need to complete the athletic clearance process and submit a current physical to participate.
