Important Rally Announcement - Wales and beyond...
More local drive out events planned for next year
With the Wales Rally only 5 weeks a
way, we are already getting enquires about our rally plans for next year, and we've been thinking long and hard about that too.
For some of our members the most enjoyable days of Figaro driving are on the annual Club Rally. The long line of glistening chrome and colours winding through the countryside, frantically waving at strangers as we whizz by make for some wonderful memories.

Our new
Figgy Drive Outs will provide routes and enable more members to enjoy the fun of convoy driving and meeting other local owners
|
Today this seems all too common place, but when the club started over ten years ago, itwas unheard of. Since our first rally in Jersey back in 2012 (29 Figs) we've seen the number of cars attending continue to grow and grow. Our Wales rally has attracted a mind-boggling 80 Figs. We, and by that I include myself, my wife Sue and son Daniel, are extremely proud of the 9 rallies we've held since the club's conception, with huge help from members across the country and abroad.
But next year we are going to try something different! Instead of one annual big rally we are going to put all our efforts into holding a series of Figgy Drive Outs
We are more than happy to work with our
Chapter Coordinators or
club members to help produce routes and contact venues. As a club we want to be the catalyst to give as many members as possible the opportunity to attend local drive outs, drive in a convoy, show off their fig, make figgy friends and have fun. After all, that's what the club is all about!

Electric Figaro (yes really!)
This car was actually manufactured in Japan 8 years ago for the 2011 electric car industry exhibition. According to the spec it has a
range of between 50km to 100km and
charging time of 8 hours. In addition to the obvious advantages it looks like the conversion has also created some much need additional storage under the bonnet!
If anyone is interested in how they achieved this and would like to have a go at building an electric Figaro, we will be creating a page on our website in due course which will include many i
f the manufacturing images and information. Watch this space!

My son Daniel in June 2008
|
About the club
How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.
Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born! We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.
Today the club has around 1,300 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives.
Warmest Regards
Kevin
