It takes courage to recognize when a wrong needs to be righted. While apologies are necessary, and they do help, there are times when it takes more than saying sorry. It takes strength of character to accept that making amends is the way to set things straight. When we acknowledge that reparations are essential, healing is a natural outcome. Imagine if everyone was taught at a young age the art of apology and making amends as powerful tools for maintaining relationships and peace, it would make quite the setting for humility to shine.

Josten's is no longer taking orders for graduation items over the phone or online. Caps, Gowns and Tassels will be available to buy here at the school.
CASH ONLY (checks, and credit cards will be NOT be accepted) Cap and gown distribution will be on May 29 from 11-1pm. Pick up will be in front of Room 3 by the Counseling Office.

Wednesday, May 30
Senior Lagoon Day
Seniors and Chaperones will be riding Frontrunner up and back.
- All students need to meet at the AF Frontrunner Station at 6:30am and will all be riding the 7:09am train up to Farmington.
- All students will ride back on the 4:09pm Frontrunner from Farmington and arrive back to the AF Frontrunner Station at about 5:30pm.
- All students are required to ride Frontrunner with the teachers/chaperones - they CANNOT drive themselves!
- Lagoon is only open as a school day so students will not be able to go unless they are with the teachers/chaperones.
- Unfortunately, season passes don't work for school days; they will need to buy a ticket from the Finance Office.
- Tickets are on sale until Friday, May 25th at Noon!
- We will be riding Frontrunner in 1 group. Check in is at the AF Frontrunner Station.

GRADUATION (woot woot!)
Seniors need to arrive at the BYU Marriott Center at 8am. Don’t forget to wear best dress, bring your cap and gown and most importantly your SMILE!
GRAD NIGHT INFORMATION
Seniors will be going by bus to Provo Beach Resort.
Seniors will meet at the school at 10pm
The buses will load at 10:10pm
They will have pizza, salad, ice cream and drinks.
Students will leave at 1:30am and return to the High School.
Have your Senior bring the following items:
Swimsuit and Towel for the Flowrider
Socks to use for the bowling shoes
Closed heel shoes for the ropes course
An attitude for fun…. They provide the smile :)

Waiver forms must be filled out and brought prior!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

MOVING OUT OF ALPINE SCHOOL DISTRICT?
Seniors and other students who will be moving out of Alpine School District for the next school year, your school email will be shut down July 1. If you have any pictures, documents, emails, etc. that you want off of your school email, you need to save the information to another place. You won't have access to it after July 1.
TRANSCRIPTS
Seniors, if you need transcripts for colleges/Regent's scholarship please go to the Counseling Office and fill out a transcript request (except for BYU who just needs your state student ID) and leave it in the Counseling Office. Even though you've been accepted to a college, the colleges require a final transcript with last quarter grades and graduation date on them. We don't mail or email final transcripts out, so you need to be sure to come in and pick them up. The transcripts will be ready for parent or student to pick up starting June 11. Starting July 1 PARENTS CANNOT request or pick up information/transcripts for their students that have, or should have graduated.
SUMMER DRIVERS ED
Summer Drivers Ed:
There are two options for taking Drivers Ed this summer.
Option #1: June 4-14 8am-11am
Option #2: June 18-28 11am-2pm.
Both classes will be taught in room 102-103 at AF High.

Pathway Completer Awards

Congratulations!! Fifty-eight AFHS seniors were awarded a CTE Pathway Certificate by the State of Utah this year! These seniors also received a letter of congratulations, a CTE medal, and a white graduation cord.  All Completers were recognized at Senior Recognition Night and at our AFHS CTE Pathway Completers Awards Luncheon.  We also recognized four CTE students who were awarded scholarships this year. Our AFHS CTE faculty partnered with IM Flash and Hunt Electric to provide 2 students with college scholarships, Cannon McAffee and Elizabeth Anderson.  Eliza Nelson and Bailey Wallace were awarded Utah CTE Scholarships. Completer certificates are great additions to job, internship, scholarship, and college applications! Talk with your CTE teacher, counselor or CTE Specialist about being a Pathway Completer! AFHS Students pictured in front of the home in Lehi, helped build this house this year in the CTE Construction Class. This a great project and collaboration of carpentry, cabinetmaking, and interior design classes offered in Alpine School District. Congratulations were offered all around at the ribbon cutting ceremony. These students had an amazing learning experience they will always remember.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Academic
Every year Mrs. Beck has her Apparel Design Classes (sewing classes) do a service sewing project for the community! This year her students made bears for the organization "Dolls of Hope." These get sent out all across the world to children in refugee camps and those in crisis! We are so glad we could provide this service this year!
Extracurricular
For the first time in over a decade the softball team made it to the state playoffs. They are an incredible group of young ladies.  Seniors Lia Gallman, Savana Stephenson, Amy Carter, Bri Fryer, Sam Davis and Ty Davis will be missed.  They have played a huge role in the program the last 4 years.  Congratulations girls!

At BYU, The Cavemen finished off the 2018 Utah State Track and Field Championships with the girls earning a 5th Place team finish, and the boys earning a 6th Place team finish.

Boys Tennis had their best year ever representing AFHS. All five positions qualified for state (1st time ever) and the Cavemen ended up placing 2nd in region and 2nd in the 6A State Tournament, (highest finish ever). 1st Doubles (Ben Roper/Dane Petersen) and 3rd Singles (Easton McBeth) both made the finals in their respective tournaments. Team members included: Ben Davis, Cade Condie, Easton McBeth, Ben Roper, Dane Petersen, McKay Sobotka, Rob Crowther.
