From Fr. Jim Harrison
|
Several weeks ago we celebrated the end of the 'program year' for our Christian Formation. Erin Wolf and a number of volunteer teachers and mentors were recognized and the walls of our worship area were adorned with works of art from the various children's and youth classes. Maybe next year the adult class needs to have time for creating. Our Lenten program on Art and Spirituality gave evidence of both the need and ability of all of us to express our faith in a variety of media.
In an effort to 'fill the gap' in some way, during the summer months, we will be offering a Children's Message following the sermon during the 10:00 a.m. service at least once a month. Parents are encouraged to collect any children from the Nursery prior to that time in the service.
This Sunday will be our first one given - by Missy Harrison. If you are interested in being part of the team who will deliver the Children's Message, please contact Fr. Jim and/or Erin Wolf and we will be happy to provide you with both guidance and materials.
Peace and Blessings, Fr. Jim+

Parish Forum Follow-Up
|
I'd like to express my deep thanks and gratitude to the following individuals & groups:
-Heather McCombs & Matthew Payne for running and facilitating the Parish Forum -Katrin Patience for taking notes -The Vestry & Finance Committee for their diligence and hard work
-The Vestry for providing lunch
-Kortney Behnke & Youth Group students for providing childcare -Last, but certainly not least, to the members of the parish that were able to be present for some or all of the conversation. Your comments, questions, and suggestions speak volumes to your love of All Saints and will provide us with a better picture of the path of ministry that lies ahead.
Fr. Jim+
The Parish Forum held this past Sunday seems to have been well received. In sharing the financial status of the congregation, those present realized we need to make some changes, but there is much we can do to strengthen the mission and ministry of All Saints.
A web page has been created to share information and gather more comments and feedback. You will find notes taken, copies of slides presented, and a Q&A page with questions not answered at the Forum or asked afterwards. This page will grow over time. Finally, there is a link to take a survey if you were not heard (because you didn't share at the meeting or weren't able to attend). We hope you'll check it out. Parish members can look for this to reach your inbox tomorrow.

Donation to Masvingo Mothers' Union
|
On Companion Diocese Sunday, May 13, the loose offering went to the
Mothers' Union in the Diocese of Masvingo, Zimbabwe. This group's activities include visiting the sick; providing food, clothes, and school fees for those in need of assistance; and supporting income-generating projects in rural areas.
All Saints gathered
$352.00 to help the Mothers' Union in their work. Thank you to all who contributed!

Community Picnic
|
Please join us after the 10am service on
Sunday, June 3
for our annual parish picnic! We're opening it to the community again this year so that people can stop by and get to know us in an informal setting. Weather permitting, we'll gather on the north lawn (outside the Washington St. entrance). The rain location will be Kemper Hall. Hot dogs will be provided; please sign up on the bulletin board in the hallway to bring food for the potluck.
Note: Since we're expecting extra guests, please double the amount of your potluck contribution.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry
|
The Most. Rev. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, has become internationally known after his beautiful sermon at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. (Click
here to watch or read the sermon.)
This makes it especially exciting that the Presiding Bishop will be here in our diocese in
October of 2019! He will speak at the Diocesan Convention on October 25. On
Saturday, October 26, a revival event open to the public will be held at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center. Mark your calendars and tell your friends!
|
Grass Cutting & Lawn Care
|
We need volunteers to help with keeping the church grounds mowed and tidy. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Sign up for as many weeks as you choose; during those weeks, you'll be responsible for mowing the lawn and any other yard maintenance that you notice needs doing. The timing for coming in to do the work is up to you. Contact Chris Laswell for more information. Thank you!
|
Photos for Display Case
|
The display case in the Drew St. entryway is being redone. If you have any photos of parish activities from 2016-present that you'd like to contribute to the display, please bring them to the church office.
Note: photos of adults/mixed-age groups are preferred, since photos of children and youth are already well-represented on the bulletin board in the hall.
