Mikva for Men on Erev Yom Kippur
In the near future we will IY"H be using the new state of the art Men's Mikva at the brand new Lower
Merion Mikva facility. However, this Erev Yom Kippur we still have to manage with the existing
facilities. In order to ease congestion and keep the Mikvaos as sanitary as possible we have made the
following arrangements for men for Erev Yom Kippur 5778:
The decommissioned Mikva (that has been temporarily taken
out of retirement) in the basement of Caskey Torah Academy will be
available from 10:00 AM until 4:00PM. It is suggested that those who are using the CTA mikva shower
at home to avoid congestion at the mikva. Caskey Torah Academy needs to begin cleaning the Mikva
promptly at 4:00. Please make sure that you leave by 4:00.
The CTA mikvaos use a fish tank type filter. As the filter does not remove
the water from the Mikva it is permissible to use the mikva while this type of filter is on. The Mikva is
sanitized with bromine tablets.
Caskey Torah Academy Mikva:
Hours: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Entrance: The entrance to the CTA mikva is the second set of steps which go down to the basement -
opposite the Early Childhood Playground.
Please pay $10.00 in cash or check at the Torah Academy Mikva. Checks should be made out to Lower
Merion Community Mikva.
There are 4 preparation rooms and 2 Mikvaos available.
It is necessary to bring your own towel and all of your own supplies.
Anything left in the Mikva will be disposed of as the organizers see fit.
We would like to express our appreciation to Rabbi Entin and the Torah Academy lay leaders for making
their facilities available to the community. A great deal of attention and planning were necessary to
take the mikva out of retirement for Erev Yom Kippur use.
Any questions should be directed to me at rabbi.ne@gmail.com
