CRCBR Phishing/Malware Email Security Alert
Be on the lookout for suspicious emails
A number of our members are receiving emails that appear to be from CRCBR with a general attachment and request to open and review. This is SPAM and a technique called spoofing.  Also, many of the spammers use a technique called phishing to acquire credentials to your network or install malware. Here are a couple of links with more information on spoofing and phishing.  We have reported this malware attempt. Please note:
  • CRCBR will not send attachments unless it is specifically related to a CRCBR event or program noted in the body of the email (e.g. an upcoming class or event).
  • To protect your information, CRCBR, the North Carolina, South Carolina and National Association of REALTORS®, do not sell our member lists
  • If you receive a suspicious email, check with the apparent sender before opening or clicking on links.
  • CRCBR has reported the malicious use of [email protected] domain to the registrar (GoDaddy). Please delete any emails from that domain.

  • Request your IT to black list any domains that send spam/phishing emails.
