Your Village @ Work - April 14, 2018
Earth Day Events Begin Monday in the Village
Earth Day is on Sunday, April 22nd, and here in Palmetto Bay, we are celebrating Mother Earth all week long with ladybug releases, tree giveaways, an outdoor movie and so much more. This drawing of a plastics-riddled turtle is the winner of Palmetto Bay's 2018 Earth Day Art Contest. Congratulations to Annabel Gomez, a sixth grader at Southwood Middle School. As one of her prizes, her art now graces the cover of the current edition of "Village of Parks Play-by-Play Recreation Guide".

On Monday (the 16th through the 18th), area elementary schools will be holding ladybug releases. These cute little beetles work to rid our gardens of harmful pests.

Everybody loves a flick, why not enjoy one in the great outdoors? The beautiful Coral Reef Park will be home to "Earth Day Movie Night" from 8 pm - 10 pm. "Nut Job 2 Nutty by Nature" will be shown on a giant inflatable screen. Food will be available for purchase. Don't forget to bring your blankets and chairs!

On Saturday the 21st, come and get your  free shade tree! The giveaway will be held at Ludovici Park from 8 am - 11 am. (Proof of PB residency required. One tree per residence).
