plans to give you a hope and a future"
Raising Godly leaders for a country in need
February 2019

The new school year has begun at Genesis with smiling faces and gratefulness for the opportunity to learn. We are grateful to God for His faithfulness through this ministry and th
ank you to all of you, our faithful friends, as well for help ing us make a difference in the future of nearly 300 children at Genesis Nursery and Primary School.

Thank you to all of you who responded to our call for help in acquiring school uniforms and shoes for these children. They are looking "smart" as they would say, and ready to learn.

Getu and her siblings were abandoned by their mother before Getu can even remember. They live with their father and grandmother with very limited resources or opportunities for change.

Getu is one of our many bright children at Genesis that just needed the opportunity to learn. She has attended Genesis for 2 years after struggling at a low quality local school. The much smaller class size and quality trained teachers at Genesis make all the difference.   They also have the op portunity to learn about Jesus every day.   Though she was behind when she started at Genesis and a bit old for her class, Getu benefited from the Jump Start class designed and run by Elizabeth and Laura, two of our missionaries, to

help kids like Getu who come to us far behind in their studies. Now Getu
has caught up to her classmates.   She loves to read and is now one of the 3rd grade library helpers. Her math scores have improved to be 11 % above the average in her grade. G etu says her favorite subject is now math and she has improved confidence.

This is our goal for all of our students that they may seize the opportunity of a quality education to lift them out of the cycle of poverty into which they were born. And all this while learning about Jesus daily. Please pray for these children as they live in difficult circumstances that they may grow to love Jesus and reach their home country of Uganda for Him through the skills they begin building at Genesis, the beginning of their education and their faith. Thank you for being a part of it.

Back to School

                                       .
We finished our 3rd school building last year and this is our first year to begin with plenty of classrooms for every grade from pre-school and kindergarten all the way to Primary 7. We have found that the floors in our first two buildings are not strong enough and have had much wear and tear. We would like to replace them with Terrazzo like we have in the 3rd building as well as the dining hall in order to help keep the building strong and resilient to the many feet that scuttle across the floors every day.   We have 8 rooms in which to replace the flooring. Each will cost $3,000. If you are considering a special gift to HUM, we ask that you consider giving toward part or all of a room. You can send a check to our Littleton office, give online at

  or text HUM to 41444.
