"Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me." Matthew 18:5

Christmas is around the corner and it always brings many fond memories for the children and for me. We enjoy decorating the tree together, and even others in the community are learning to put them up and put on lights! How I wish that all the children could have a wonderful Christmas like we have in the children's homes.

When this time of year comes I think of some of the children who have nothing, which is actually most of the children in the village, except those who are sponsored. We thank you for the support and love shown for Christmas in the past and we ask you to open your hearts and sponsor them again for Christmas for $35. This buys a lot for the child including a new outfit, underwear, personal items such as deodorant, lotion, bathing soap and laundry soap as well as food for the whole family including 2 kilos of beef. It is a real treat for the children. We also have a large Christmas party in which we serve a hot meal to all that come, which is now over 2,500 children. All will receive Christmas cake made just for them and candy as well as a lot of fun and hearing the true meaning of Christmas, our Lord, Jesus Christ, His birth.

This is a time I look forward to seeing the smiles on the faces of the children and watching them laugh and enjoy. I know that the Lord laughs and smiles with us. He knows the plight of these children, that is why He sent people like me and others to help them. The Lord wants us to become as little children, humbled and trusting in Him in everything and in every way. I love seeing children who are happy and with real smiles on their faces.

Last fall we came across a family of 1 ½ year old triplets, 3 year old twins and two older children (8 and 11 years). The mother had no income, the father left and she had no help in caring for them. They would have no food for Christmas, maybe a sweet potato dug up from their gardens. She could not do anything to feed the babies. When we found this home

our first priority besides praying with them and finding out the story was to get them food. We took several large bags of food for them as a Christmas gift from the ministry. We also included some soap for bathing and laundry. The Lord is always faithful to those who call upon His name. He
provided sponsors for the 8 year old and the 11 year old, as well as one to help with the family situation of needing food. Please pray for the Lord to continue to guide us and help us to help this family.

We need you to help us to serve the people and particularly the children of Kamonkoli. There are many ways: praying, coming on a team, sponsoring a child for $30+ a month, supporting the ministry financially and praying some more! Thank you to those of you who have generously contributed to the missionary home for our new missionaries. We are excited to begin building in January. As the ministry grows and serves more families our financial needs grow as well. I ask you to consider us in your yearend giving to our ministry funds. This pays our national staff, helps run the school, clinic orphanage, AWANA, emergency outreach and more. It also pays for our utilities and other administrative necessities.
If you have a larger gift God has put on your heart for one of our projects we have several we will need to fund this next year.
  • We have need of a generator for the school, dining hall, clinic and future buildings as power is inconsistent. It is estimated to cost $12,000 for the generator (a Perkins), the housing and all wiring underground (and cables) as well as the transportation to get it to us.
  • We are looking to add a computerized patient management system to our clinic for approximately $3,200.
  • We have a large need for another van of $25,000. We bought one four years ago and have already put around 200,000 miles on it, but need a second one.
  • We are bursting at the seams in our rented sponsorship program space and office space and hope to begin raising funds for a Ministry Outreach Center. This will house all of the child sponsorship needs - food, clothing, shoes, offices including counseling, and the children will be coming there to write their letters. It will also help us to have all of the ministry in one place.
If God leads you to give, we shall be very thankful to you and always to the Lord. I have enjoyed visiting with so many people and just love you all and am looking forward to seeing others before I leave in mid-November. I am very thankful to have you in my life and the life of the children of Uganda.
God bless you, Katherine

'Tis the Season

Christmas is a special time for many of us. Take this opportunity to love on your sponsored child or other underfunded or wait listed children in Kamonkoli this Christmas with a donation of $35 per child. This will purchase an outfit, hygiene supplies and food as well as a Christmas party. You can send a Christmas card for Katherine to take back for your child to our Littleton office by Thanksgiving. Please send no gifts to our office as Katherine and Melanie have extremely limited space in their baggage. To donate please send a check to our Littleton office, give online at
