Catch the excitement of the 36th annual Snake Alley Criterium on Memorial Day weekend! The fun begins with the Road Races, finishing on Main St. this evening after runs up to 104 miles. The Criterium races begin at 8:30 tomorrow morning in downtown Burlington, with the final Category 1/2/Pro race at 3:40 PM. Hundreds of athletes from around the country will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. The popular kids' races and Cobblestone Climb take place at noon. Beginning this year, the Criterium will have a new course that includes a portion of Heritage Hill and a long straightaway on Jefferson. What:  Bring the kids for some fun bicycle racing on the streets of historical downtown Burlington. There are 7 individual races and 4 starting lines. As the age groups progress, the distance of the races increase. All races finish at the Criterium's start/finish line on Jefferson St. There is no entry fee. Top 3 finishers in each category receive a trophy. All participating children receive a free t-shirt. Helmets required. Register at Steamboat Senior Center, 501 Jefferson St.
