Year End MAP Video Coming Soon
We are coming down to the end of a great year. We have captured much of it with photos and video. We are working to put them all together in an amazing year end video that may be the last for some. Please take advantage of this keepsake while supporting our program at the same time.

Did you know???
Medfield has its very own weaving studio right in the center of town. Woven Seas is located at 535 Main St. next to the railroad tracks in the CVS parking lot. They hold classes for all ages and the kids thoroughly enjoy it every time we visit. It's a perfect place for birthday party or a gathering of friends. Call Elizabeth (MAP alumni) at (508) 446-1761 for more details.

Last Round of Clubs Begin May 6th

Mondays : "Sleepover Club" w/Maddie
Although the kids won’t be sleeping, they will have the opportunity to play board games, facial masks, watch movies, and other activities that typically take place during a sleepover. Feel free to sport your jammies in this fun club.

Tuesdays : "Gardening Club" w/Desiree
You’ll need more than a just green thumb for this club. We will explore a variety of projects centered around the theme of gardening, but not exclusive to growing. Children will create their own mini greenhouses, explore regrowing vegetables from “scraps”, design and build habitats for garden friendly creatures, make and meditate in mini zen gardens and more.
Wednesdays : "Hacking Club" w/Tom
We all use computers every day for all sorts of different reasons, but how do they work? In Hacking club we will be exploring how to build a computer and what all its parts do as well as how to make those parts actually work! Club kids will have the opportunity to take apart computers and see all of the fun technology inside. We will also be learning how to use computer code using the amazing Scratch programming language provided by MIT!
Thursdays : "Fibers Club" w/Nicole
Our newest teacher Nicole is an artist who loves to weave. She will be doing a variety of cool projects in which the kids can try their hand at creating beautiful art through various weaving and stitching techniques. If you love to work with your hands in a fun and peaceful environment, this is the club for you.

What Have We Been Up To???
Leah started the month of April with project week. Her theme was "Hoppy Spring" in which the kids decorated eggs, created spring-themed signs and cute pom pom bird's nests.
April Showers bring Super Powers! That was the theme of our special sign-up day on April 4th. Kids built a super hero training gym with Eric, made accessories for their heroic attire with Leah, and watched Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse (enjoyed with none other than Kurt’s Super Famous Popcorn). There was much to celebrate this month as we had several birthdays, kids and 3 MAP teachers included(Leah, Tom and Desiree).
Our Vacation week was a success! We had a blast cruising around Medfield. We visited the Zullo Gallery, House of Pizza, Woven Seas as well as a trip to Franklin Park Zoo. We also ate lunch uptown, played mini golf at the K-1 site, played bingo, made fuzzy dice and watched 2 amazing dog shows!
During Tom’s “Home Opener” project week, kids had the opportunity to design their own baseball keychains and made baseball decorations to hang around the room.
Eric’s “3D Illustrations” project week showed kids how to sketch out awesome 3D illustrations step by step; many of which seemed like they could jump right out of the paper! The kids also got an idea of what Jackson Pollock may have experienced while creating his artwork during Katelyn’s Splatter Week . Kids had the opportunity to create some splatterific artwork using different techniques like throwing darts on acrylic-filled paint balloons, blowing through straws, and using a spin machine.
Food Drive: We are short on our efforts to fill the box for the food cupboard. We realize that spring is a busy time, but if everyone grabs one can of soup or one box of pasta, we can easily fill it. Please help a little and make a big difference. They will come next week to pick up our donations.

Coming Up In May:
Uptown Trips:
We have started our walks uptown for those kids who have earned themselves 15 MAP hero tickets. The kids are choosing which day they would like to go and Kurt will send an email to the families so that they plan accordingly.

Volunteer Readers :
We will be recruiting kids to walk over to our nearest pre-school, Beginning Years and read to their kids. MAPsters can bring in their favorite books to share. We will notify you if your kid decides to take part in this wonderful and rewarding experience.
