CROWNING OF MARY
This Wednesday, May 1st is the Crowning of Mary.  We will be crowning Mary during Mass.  Families are invited to join us for this special tradition.  We are asking children to bring flowers from home for the ceremony.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TAG DAY
Students in grades 6 through 8 will be allowed have their May Tag Day on Thursday, May 2nd due to their fieldtrip on Friday, May 3rd.  Students are required to wear their uniform during the fieldtrip on Friday, May 3rd.

TAG DAY
This Friday, May 3rd is Tag Day. On the first Friday of each month, students are allowed to wear non-uniform clothing in place of their uniform for a fee of 50 cents (or $4.50 for the entire year).

As a Catholic community, our attire should reflect modesty. Examples of inappropriate clothing are, but are not limited to:
  • Tops which are sleeveless, which do not cover the entire shoulder, or which have spaghetti straps
  • Backless shirts/dresses that cover less than a uniform shirt
  • Pajama tops or bottoms
  • Leggings, jeggings, yoga pants
  • Pants, shorts, and tops that are too tight; clothing should be loose fitting.
  • Skinny jeans
  • Baggy styles are not permitted
  • Shirts with a low scooped neckline
  • Shirts not long enough to cover the waist and hips. When the shirt is tucked in and arms are raised above the head, the shirt should not come untucked.
  • Shirts with inappropriate logos/pictures
  • Skirts or shorts not knee length. *Knee length is defined by the bottom of the skirt touching the KNEE IN THE FRONT AND THE CREASE AT THE BACK OF THE KNEE.
  • Shoes with high heels, open backs or toes, sandals, Crocs
  • Nail polish, makeup, or excessive jewelry
If students wear clothing deemed inappropriate, they will be told to call home for a change of clothing.  Students having to change will lose their Tag Day privilege for the following month. A second TAG Day infraction will cause students to lose this privilege for the remainder of the year.

This Friday, May 3rd is Box Top Collection Day.  Please send any box tops to your homeroom teacher.

SCHOOL-WIDE ACCELERATED READER GOAL
The deadline to meet our school-wide AR goal of 7200 points is fast approaching!  If we reach this goal by May 29th, Mr. Tisdale has agreed (somewhat hesitantly) to wear a princess fairy dress and a Clemson hat while riding a horse around the playground! We are still shy of our goal, so please encourage your student to read over the Easter break and pass those AR tests once school resumes.  If each middle schooler passes just two tests on their reading level, we will be very close to witnessing this historic event! The elementary students are avid readers and are proud to be a big part of Mr. Tisdale's big day!

Please be sure library books are returned by the end of the school year in order to avoid any replacement costs.
