Encourage Your Team to Follow New DPS Branding
The Communications team has launched DPS' new brand standards, complete with templates, photos, icons and more to help team members create high-quality collateral and consistent communications.

Visit thecommons.dpsk12.org/branding to see an overview of all the new branding resources. Then, help lead the charge on your team:
  • Share the overall DPS brand standards with your team so they understand the basics of our brand, including preferred fonts and colors.
  • Dive in deeper with our internal brand standards, and learn how DPS departments can celebrate their own identity within the organization, while staying true to our overarching brand.
  • Download DPS' new Style Guide and reference it in your written communications to ensure we're being consistent throughout all our content and channels.
  • Consider adopting a department logo with a customized color. Not sure if your team has a department logo? Access our department branding assets, including all logos and brand guides that have been created.
  • Revamp your materials with DPS-branded templates in Word, PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign. All templates come with pre-set colors, fonts and placeholder photos.
  • Encourage team members to follow these steps to access PhotoShelter, our online image library where you can search and download thousands of high-quality, professional photos of real DPS students, families and team members.
  • Pick out a graphic from our Google Drive, where you can view and download dozens of icons in multiple colors that all fit the DPS style.
  • Refresh your email signature and ask others to do the same. Choose from multiple options based on your preferences and get detailed instructions on how to customizeand install your email signature by referencing this guide.
  • Order new business cards for your team by filling out an order form and submitting to Ricoh. The new full-color design is bright and engaging, and is available as a one-sided or two-sided business card.
We are all one DPS -- and we believe that a unified brand builds credibility for us as a district and gives families the reassurance that DPS is behind all of our efforts. Growth, Performance and Training
LIFT and CCE Leaders: Mark Your Calendars for Key End-of-Year Deadlines
Click here for a schedule of LIFT and Core Competencies Evaluation (CCE) end-of-year deadlines. Key dates include deadlines for self-appraisals, norming, performance conversations and pay-for-performance recommendations.  Remember: Teams can set earlier deadlines and complete norming earlier to account for work schedules and specific needs. Collaborate with your HR partner to adjust these deadlines to earlier dates to meet your team's needs.  Visit the  LIFT  and  CCE  pages on The Commons for more year-end resources.

LIFT and CCE Leaders: Prepare for Norming Sessions
Norming is how we ensure equity in our performance management systems. We use norming to identify our subjectivity,  eliminate biases  and apply consistent standards for how we rate our team members. Here's how you can prepare for norming sessions:
  • Review the Rethinking Norming slide deck.
  • Review the LIFT or Core Competencies Evaluation (CCE) competencies and behaviors.
  • Review the LIFT or CCE rating scales.
  • Review self-appraisals and other rater feedback completed for your team member.
  • Draft your appraisal in Infor HR and print or save a copy to bring with you to norming.
  • Summarize your thoughts in a preparation template for each team member.
Contact your HR partner now to schedule your norming sessions.

Access Templates to Welcome Your New Employees

  • A template for a welcome email (to be sent before the new employee's first day).
  • A conversation template to use during the employee's first week to check on progress.
  • learning plan to check skill and knowledge development during the employees first three months.
All templates can be downloaded and customized for your team. Feedback or questions? Contact [email protected]

Updates & FYI
Coming Soon: 2018-19 School Calendars in Infinite Campus
We're streamlining how we collect and distribute all school calendars for the 2018-19 school year. These calendars include critical information for Payroll, Transportation, Food and Nutrition Services, Human Resources, Student Submissions and more.  Every school -- including charters -- will input   2018-19  calendars directly into Infinite Campus. School calendars will indicate  teacher start and end dates, non-student contact days and vacation days that vary from the district's calendar.

School support leaders will have access to this information through reporting.  These reports and directions for use will be shared in May.  Meanwhile, please do not directly contact schools for their 2018-19 calendars.  If you have questions,  contact David Woessner in the Department of Technology Services.

Lynda.com PD Opportunities are Available for DAEOP Staff
Last year, we partnered with Lynda.com to pilot professional development opportunities for office support staff (DAEOP). Now, we've extended that partnership to provide six months of professional development to every office support staff member every year.  This includes access to more than 6,000 online video courses that cover topics from customer service to Excel.  The first six-month program -- for office support staff with last names starting with the letters A-L -- kicked off March 1. In September, office support staff with last names starting with the letters M-Z will have access.

These resources will empower our office support staff to grow critical skills. In next month's Manager Monthly, we'll provide more resources to help you develop your DAEOP staff members' skills and talent. If you have questions, contact  [email protected] .
