Every furry face at our shelter has a story to tell! And, if you have any ideas on any animal tale, or a story that might be newsworthy, please contact me or Bethann. (The board of directors requests that you not approach the media directly as we have a coordinated communication plan and process.)

Happy Spring! With the warmer temperatures, it is much nicer to walk our dogs in the field.
However, the warmer temperatures also bring litters of kittens and puppies needing our help.
Did you know that we can only help as many litters as we have foster homes available?
And we don't have nearly as many as we need ...
Fostering saves lives and is very rewarding.
Can you help?
Please contact Bethann if you would like to foster puppies or kittens. Email her today at
[email protected].
Thanks for all that you do! See you around the shelter!

Orphans of the Storm is located in Armstrong County. We were established in 1969 to provide temporary shelter for unwanted and abused animals. We match lovable animals with loving forever homes, educate the public on humane, responsible care of all animals, and promote spaying and neutering to reduce companion animal overpopulation. Orphans of the Storm is a no-kill animal shelter. This means we euthanize an animal only if it is suffering with no hope to be cured, or if the animal is a danger to people or other animals.
