Do you love the photography work of Kosti Ruohomaa?   Do you have some spare time on the weekends? If yes, we need you! Our new exhibit of Kosti Ruohomaa will be on display this season in the foyer and reading room of our library building. We need some help staffing it on the weekends. Celebrate Father's Day by digging out your remote control or sailing pond model and take it for a spin on our model pond. Pick up races with other families out for a day with good old Dad!

3D Printing Demonstration

In the past models were made of wood and other organic materials. Today we can design models on computers and print them out in 3-D. Students from the Searsport District Middle School will demonstrate how the computer aided design software "TinkerCAD" works and print out their inspirational designs for all to see. Join them on the model pond afterwards to see if their creations float, sail, and who will win the race!

Rob Eddy, model maker from Camden, Maine, shares his inspiration for building models. Eddy's models are known for their use of the silver, gold, and precious gems, in addition to traditional wood.

The music of the Leaky Boot Jug Band ranges from rock to country, blues to folk, with some old time favorites and original tunes jumbled together for a whale of a good time. Bring a picnic or stop by on your drive home!

The Soling racing yacht is a popular one-design class. This miniature version is one of the most popular classes and has the largest number of registered models within the American Model Yachting Association racing class system.
Robotics  Demonstration

Join the  Midcoast MAINEiacs Robotics Team from the Searsport District Schools as they demonstrate the robots they built.  These robots have been designed to complete a variety of tasks in district competitions.  Come see how they navigate the terrain and obstacles on the Main Street Crescent.

David White, an antiques dealer and model restorer from North Yarmouth, shares what inspires model collectors to acquire their next ship or pond model and the intricate work it takes to restore these boats in miniature.
