Proof of Residency Portal Now Open Online
Avoid the lines and the rush!  Complete the proof of residency in the convenience of your home! Proof of residency documentation will be collected  via the Infinite Campus Online Registration (OLR) Application online beginning April 22, 2019.  Parents must perform this task through their parent account online.  Student accounts
do not provide this functionality.
Parents are encouraged to upload their proof of residency documents as soon as possible when the collection process begins. To complete this process you will need to:
  • ensure you have an email address on file with your child's school.
  • activate an Infinite Campus Portal account.
Your child's school is prepared to assist you with any questions you may have regarding this process.  Below, you will find a link to the web page containing these instructions and a presentation providing step-by-step instructions regarding the use of OLR for this process.  You can navigate through the steps manually and pause the presentation, as needed.

New students who enrolled during the 2019-2020 Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration process will not be required to complete this process during the summer.
Parents without an active Infinite Campus Portal account should check their email for a message from " icmessenger@mcschools.org".  This email contains the activation link needed to create your Infinite Campus Portal account.
Please contact Cindy Seymour, System Registrar, at 478-994-2031 with any questions or concerns.

Georgia Milestones Testing Continues
The Georgia Milestones Assessment System is designed to provide information about how well students are mastering the state-adopted content standards in the core content areas of English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Importantly, Georgia Milestones is designed to provide students with critical information for their own achievement and their readiness for their next level of learning - be it the next grade, the next course, or endeavor (college or career).  If you have questions about standardized testing, please contact your student's school.

Students are not permitted to use, or bring into the testing environment, any electronic device that could allow them to access, retain, or transmit information (e.g., cell phone, smartphone, PDA, electronic recording, camera, or playback device, etc.). Possession or improper use of such devices during testing may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the system's student code of conduct and/or test invalidation. Devices such as those mentioned above that are brought into the testing environment must not remain in the student's possession during testing.

Measles: Make Sure Your Child is Immunized
Measles is a highly contagious disease. It can be serious for young children. Protect your child by making sure he or she is up to date on measles vaccine, including before traveling abroad.

Children Need 2 Doses of Measles Vaccine
You can protect your child against measles with a combination vaccine that provides protection against three diseases: measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). The MMR vaccine is proven to be very safe and effective. CDC recommends children get one dose at each of the following ages:
  • 12 through 15 months
  • 4 through 6 years
Make Sure You Are Protected Before International Travel
Before any international travel-
  • Infants 6-11 months old need 1 dose of measles vaccine*
  • Children 12 months and older need 2 doses separated by at least 28 days
  • Teenagers and adults who do not have evidence of immunity** against measles should get 2 doses separated by at least 28 days
Before you leave for your trip, check the  CDC Travel Notices on measles.
*Infants who get one dose of MMR vaccine before their first birthday should get two more doses according to the routinely recommended schedule (one dose at 12 through 15 months of age and another dose at 4 through 6 years of age or at least 28 days later).

Measles Can Be Serious
Measles is a very contagious disease caused by a virus. It spreads to others through coughing and sneezing. It is so contagious that if one person has it, up to 90% of the people around him or her will also become infected if they are not protected.
Measles starts with a high fever. Soon after, it causes a cough, runny nose, and red eyes. Then a rash of tiny, red spots breaks out. It starts at the head and spreads to the rest of the body. Measles can be serious. It can lead to pneumonia, encephalitis (swelling of the brain), and death.

Measles in the U.S.
Measles cases and outbreaks have been reported in the U.S. in 2019.
People in the United States still get measles, but it's not very common. That's because most people in this country are protected against measles through vaccination. However, measles is still common in other parts of the world. Every year, unvaccinated people get measles while they are abroad, bring the disease into the United States, and spread it to others.
Measles can spread quickly in communities where people are not vaccinated. Anyone who is not protected against measles, including children too young to be vaccinated, are at risk of getting infected. That's why it is so important to be up to date on vaccinations, including before  traveling abroad.
