Board approves compensation plan for 2019-2020
Changes will enhance salary schedules for current staff and aid in recruitment
The School Board on April 25 approved salary schedules for employees for 2019-2020.

Increasing salaries for all employees is one way the District is continuing efforts to hire and retain High Quality Staff, as outlined in the Strategic Plan.  In addition to the salary increases, the Board recently approved a competitive board-paid insurance plan.

This year, the district will increase the base certified salary by $1,300. This means the base teacher's salary for a first-year teacher moves to $38,000. In addition, the Board approved an additional $500 to Master's degree steps on the salary schedule based on a market comparison. Teachers and other certified staff will receive increases averaging 5.6 percent. These increases are possible, in part, due to the passage of Prop R-P in 2018.

Support staff employees will receive overall annual pay increases averaging 6.6 percent after the Board increased the hourly rate for each salary grade and reclassified 20 job titles to improve market competitiveness.

Salary schedules are posted on the District web site:  Salary schedules
