Global Perspective: Paul Tek Shing Yin
Paul Tek Shing Yin 尹德勝 is the president and CEO of Dah Chung Holding Limited and Screw & Fastener Investment Limited. He is also independent non-executive director of Qingdao Holdings International Limited. Paul earned Silver Bauhinia Star, second rank in the Order of the Bauhinia Star in Hong Kong for distinguished members who have devoted to public service leadership for an extended period of time. "I graduated from Ohio State in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Production, and initially, I chose Ohio State because of the consultation provided by the American Consulate General in Hong Kong. In my opinion, the most valuable experience I have earned at Ohio State and later brought to China was the application of scientific management of an industrial company. I think Ohio State affected my career path internationally because I always use my management skills to facilitate international trading. If there is one thing The Ohio State University could learn from China, it is the culture and hi-tech development.

Ohio State is a special place, and I want to pass on the pride by congratulating those who recently became Buckeyes. I feel proud for our university and cherish the friendship with American and international students. I sincerely hope the current students join alumni clubs after graduation and keep in touch with Ohio State from time to time. Go Bucks!"

Nianhua, or New Year Picture, is a form of Banhua, printed color picture from a carved woodblock. On Febuary 4, the Beijing Alumni Club invited a paint instructor to coach the alumni to practice this traditional form of art during the spring festival.
In psychology, art theory is a useful way to destress and to decompress. Painting Nianhua, moreover, is an artful way to appreciate Chinese traditional art and culture. This special event drew a roomful of Buckeye spirit.
