Superintendent Search

The Dallastown Area Board of School Directors has launched its search for an accomplished leader to serve as the Dallastown Area School District superintendent, following current superintendent Dr. Dyer's retirement effective December 31, 2019. Stakeholder input is critical in selecting the best candidate to serve the needs of the district.

We invite staff, students, parents/guardians, and community members to participate in this launch by identifying the preferred skills, traits, and attributes of the next superintendent of Dallastown Area School District.

It's PSSA Time

All students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 will take the English Language Arts and Mathematics Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) beginning Monday, April 15th, through Friday, May 3rd. Additionally, the PSSA Science assessment will be administered to students in grades 4 and 8 during this same time frame.
During PSSA testing, each school has established its testing window and communicates those dates to students, parents, and guardians through school newsletters, parent letters, and each school's web page.

Just as parents help their child(ren) prepare for every school day, please help your child(ren) prepare for these assessments by encouraging them to get plenty of sleep the night before and providing them with a good breakfast on the mornings of the assessments. Results will be shared with parents when released by the state.

Well Done!

Chartwells Food Service employee Karen Christas was recognized among 30 School Breakfast Heroes in Share Our Strength's national anti-hunger campaign, No Kid Hungry, for her efforts in encouraging student participation in Dallastown Area High School's Breakfast Den.

Mrs. Christas's friendly approach allows her to encourage as many students as she possibly can each day about the importance of eating breakfast.
