Hart Family and Friends,

It was great to see so many at Science Night enjoying the fun experiments and stations.  Thank you for joining us!

Due to STAAR testing next week and the potential for make-up testing on Friday, the date for our next Hart Beat has been changed from Friday, April 13 to Wednesday, April 18.  We hope you can join us at 8:15 to help celebrate all we do at Hart.  This is also an Early Release day and school will dismiss at 12:00.

Kite day was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, but due to the number of events on the calendar during that week, we are looking at the possibility of rescheduling for later in April or May.

This is the last call for Dad's at Hart! We have 8 spots left to fill:
  • April 23
  • May 2, 8, 16, 21, 22, 24, 29
Click here to register for this great experience!

With a Full HeART,

Message from the Nurse:

We are currently seeing strep throat and allergy symptoms. There is also a virus that is lasting approx. 2-3 days-predominate symptoms seem to be a  sore throat, nausea/vomiting, headache, chills, body aches (flu-like). We have not seen any diagnoses of flu recently.

HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. We do not give specific information on particular children or classrooms that have had incidences of lice. However, if your child is in class with another child who has a known diagnosis of head lice, you will receive a packet of information stating there has been a diagnosis in the classroom and policy/resources in regards to lice. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

We ask that children be free from fever without medicine, diarrhea, or vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school to prevent illnesses from spreading. Fever is considered 100.0 or greater.

If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email [email protected] and [email protected] with the date and reason for the absence. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

Please refer to the Lovejoy ISD web site under Hart Campuses / Departments / Clinic for more info. about the flu.
