Kick off for KidSport Month

In the coming weeks, events are planned across the province to spotlight and support this program’s important work. In 2018 alone, KidSport Saskatchewan assisted more than 12,000  youth facing financial obstacles that may have otherwise prevented them from participating in community sport programs.  Planned KidSport Month activities include a three-on-three basketball tournament in La Ronge and Fun and Fitness Challenges in Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. Call for Nominations – Sask Sport Inc. Board of Directors

Interested in joining Sask Sport's professional team of volunteer Board Members? Four three-year term positions are available. If you are a strong leader that believes in the benefits of sport and is passionate about integrity, innovation and community development, you are invited to submit a nomination form to Donna Schmidt .  Voting will occur June 15 at Sask Sport Inc.'s Annual General Meeting in Regina.

Beneficiary Spotlight: Just TRI It!

Every year, the Saskatoon Triathlon Club introduces dozens of women to triathlon training through its Just Tri It program, which provides participants with instruction from experienced triathletes.  The initiative is one of thousands across the province supported by funding from Saskatchewan Lotteries. This past year, that assistance helped the organization eliminate the financial barriers for two in-need participants and provide all of the equipment the women needed to train and compete.

JumpStart Profile

Since the fall of 2018, Adam Nazarali has worked as a Jumpstart Afterschool Program Mentor at Saskatoon’s Mayfair Community School, where he teaches kids how to play a variety of sports and games. With a future career in sport in mind, Adam Nazarali thought this job was a good fit.

March Athlete of the Month

Swimmer Michael Qing of Regina is the Sask Sport Athlete of the Month for March.  Qing won three gold medals at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, UAE: M02 Division 1,500 metre freestyle, C01 Division 4x100m medley relay and M08 Division 800m freestyle. He also won a bronze medal in the M06 Division 400m freestyle. READ MORE
