From the Head of School

Dear Goshen families,

This morning, I received the most special gift from the children, who made a beautiful, colorful, fingerprint tree that I will absolutely cherish for the rest of my life! I will hang it in my office, and remember each and every child and the imprint they left not only on this beautiful painting, but on the entirety of Goshen Friends School. All of the children are forever in my heart, and I just absolutely love having a steady reminder of them every day to come.

Thank you to Erin Robins for masterminding and creating this beautiful piece of art, and to Jeanne Czubaroff for coordinating the big reveal! Thanks to Kara Fontes, Lillian Fontes, and Goshen alumna Santorini Czubaroff for joining us for the presentation this morning. And thanks to the teachers for taking time out of their busy schedule so the children could leave their prints! What a fabulous way to start the last week of school!

I would like to say thank you to each and every parent for every thing you have done for Goshen Friends School this year. Thank you ... for every snack you contributed, for every time you read to the students or shared with them your culture or career, for every meal or dessert you prepared for a picnic or a dance, for every weed you pulled or mulch you placed to make our campus beautiful, for every Open House you attended and good word you spread about our school, for every fundraiser or restaurant night you organized or volunteered for, for every contribution you made toward a Friendship Feast, Fiesta, or Dr. Seuss Birthday celebration, for every donation you made of time, money or supplies ... thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! You helped make this community stronger and more vibrant this year, and we love you for it!

Have a great last week of school, and we look forward to seeing many of you at camp next week!

In Friendship,
Mimi

Goshen Parent Community

The GPC thanks the entire community for its support this year. We thrived because of you, and each event was a little more special because of the community effort.

We appreciate the homemade treats & snacks, paper products, pretzel trays, and tomato pies, the teachers giving up their Friday nights and reading at the Book Fair, and the countless other ways you gave.

In particular, special thanks goes to Mimi Ackers for her continued support of all we do, Michele Kornegay for sending all our email blasts and including our last minute updates for the Weekly, Erin Robins for all her craftiness, Erin Voshell for handling all our Oriental Trading needs, Dana Kelly for organizing our books and keeping us on budget, Jennifer Salvo for trimming all our Box Tops, Gina Hart for handling the Scrips fundraiser, Kim Quereau for setting up restaurant nights, and Marnie Repetto and Kara Fontes for their support at each meeting and event. We thank all the other GPC representatives for organizing their classes.

Please mark your calendars for the GPC's Welcome Back Picnic on August 29 at 5p.m.!
