Let's all do our part and keep the course in excellent condition by trying to fix some extra ball marks this week.
Chance to Play Adare Manor (Virtually)
"The Augusta of Ireland"

Vespra Hills Golf Club is hosting a free event!

The weather outside is still beautiful as it is starting to change. We will soon be entering a colder time, which for many golf courses means the end of the golf season; luckily, this is not the case at Vespra Hills. In a typical November, many golfers would be searching for warmer weather to play golf in the winter. Fortunately, at Vespra Hills, we have our very own indoor golf simulators and lounge known as The Attic Golf Lounge, where the weather is always perfect and the drinks are ice cold.

The Attic Golf Lounge is available for booking all winter long to our members. To kick off what is bound to be an incredible winter season, we will be hosting our first indoor event starting on October 17th. Players may book a tee time any weekday between 8:00am-2:00pm from October 17th to November 15th. The event will consist of two-person teams, playing a 9 hole scramble, which should take less than an hour to complete. The event and 1 hour simulator cost will be completely free for any members at Vespra Hills who decide to register.

Registration will be available through the Golf Genius website later this week. Once registered, you may email Logan to book a time.

Step 1: Register at Golf Genius
Step 2: Email: logan@vesprahillsgolfclub.com to book a time

The event will be played at Adare Manor, often revered as the greatest golf resort in the world and deemed, "The Augusta of Ireland". Winners of this event will receive prizes in the form of free simulator time in The Attic this winter. The more participants that register, the bigger the prize. We look forward to kicking off this winter season with you all in style.

From the Golf Shop

Hello Vespra Hills Golfers,

There is quite a bit happening this week, some items already completed, others that are just about to happen. The Ladies and Men’s Day’s are wrapping up this week and we have the Master’s this Saturday. I’ll wait until next week to give the full recaps of these programs and events.

The Golf Shop has some great sales on right now with all golf bags, clothing and shoes priced at least 25% off! Many of you have golf shop credits that you can use to take advantage of these great deals. The Golf Shop counter staff can easily provide you with your current voucher totals and help you find some good items to use them on.

We have had some member suggestions come into the Golf Shop during the last few weeks, generally stimulated by the reminders and tips that we have been sending out. Some particularly good feedback on areas that the staff can improve on and we appreciate the respectful approach that the members used when breaching the topic. We are on it! Some members also brought up a few items that they felt needed addressing, with several of the comments revolving around litter on the course and parking lots. I’m certain the vast majority of waste that we find is accidental in nature, likely due to wind blowing it from a cart, or just simply a mistake. One area that isn’t a mistake is Cigarettes and Cigars. We find cigarette remains near greens and tees regularly, and at times some big nasty cigar butts left out for all to view. We have ash trays for the golf course that fit into a drink holder and they work well. A good number of members use these, and we thank you. If you’re carrying your clubs, you may need to take some extra care when discarding your cigarette/cigar. A garbage container can be a good idea, if it is fully extinguished. Otherwise discard it in some fashion that doesn’t diminish your fellow member’s experience. The last item on the litter front is face masks. We would really appreciate that you bring your own mask to the club and keep it with you. We have been providing masks for those who forget; however, this is getting quite costly, and we are finding more and more discarded in the parking lots, left to blow all around. We still have a Covid-19 policy that requires you to discard your own garbage to help keep the employees and fellow members safe. Properly discarding a face mask would be number one on that list.

Enjoy the Fall colours over the next few weeks, as they are starting to become more and more vibrant as the days pass.

See you all soon,

Chris McNair
