What: R-CALF USA CEO to speak at CPOW Annual Meeting

Description: The Cattle Producers of Washington (CPOW), an R-CALF USA affiliate organization, will hold their annual meeting on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Fruitland Valley Vineyard and Winery, located at 5365 Highway 25 South in Fruitland, Wash. The business meeting will start at 2 p.m. and will be followed by speakers. At 3 p.m. R-CALF USA CEO Bill Bullard will give his presentation, Why America Is Losing Its Ranches. CPOW Director Scott Nielsen will then speak about the wolf program that he participated in this last summer. Washington state representatives have also been invited to speak at the annual meeting. A steak dinner will be served at 6 p.m. There will be a silent auction and live auction fund-raiser after dinner. The event is open to the public and tickets are $45 at the door.
R-CALF USA works on various issues that affect the continued profitability and viability of independent U.S. cattle producers, such as Mandatory Country-of-Origin Labeling (M-COOL), checkoff reform, animal identification, livestock price reporting, animal health concerns, captive supplies and packer ownership of livestock, as well as various trade agreements.
