4) THE LISTENING PROJECT SCREENING - MAY 8
Documentary by Dr. Jane Madell
We're thrilled to screen Dr. Jane Madell's new documentary,
The Listening Project, May 8th, immediately following the Annual Meeting. Co-directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Irene Taylor Brodsky, the film profiles several young adults who are deaf and illustrates the impact of technology and pediatric hearing services on their lives.

HLAA-NYC MEETING
Hearing and the Brain
On April 17th from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Kelly Tremblay, PhD, will lead a discussion on the topic of Hearing and the Brain. This consumer-friendly presentation is an excellent opportunity to get to know the work and members of the Hearing Loss Association of America, NYC Chapter. Meetings are open to the public, but there are lots of great reasons to become a member.

Did you know certain Apple Stores offer accessibility workshops for people with disabilities, including hearing loss. The workshops are designed to teach the basics of using assistive technologies built into every Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. COMMUNICATE WITH SUCCESS
Free Program for Seniors
Space is still available for Communicate with Success, an 8-week program beginning April 5th that's designed to improve the communication skills of seniors with hearing loss. Through demonstrations and interactive exercises, participants learn to feel more confident communicating in a variety of situations. Those interested are required to RSVP.

Here's an opportunity for artists who have a disability and who address disability in their work. Artists Undeterred is seeking submissions for an exhibition this summer at the Pride Center in Staten Island.
