Endeavor Communications Continues Broadband Investment in Morgan County
Recently, it was my privilege to visit Endeavor Communications' corporate headquarters in Cloverdale, Indiana as a guest of Jay Watkins, Endeavor's vice president of planning and operations who also serves as the company's representative to the MCEDC Board of Directors.
All that can be said could be summed up with a single word: "Wow."
In Morgan County, we are fortunate to have several broadband internet providers that serve our residences and our businesses, and if the others remotely similar to Endeavor, we are well-positioned to take broadband - more importantly, rural broadband - to the next level for our county's citizens and commerce. As Jay reminded me, last year Endeavor invested more than $1,000,000 in its Morgan County infrastructure, and another $1,000,000 is scheduled for investment in 2018 as the company continues to extend its capacities into the county. Could you use gigabit internet and 100% fiber for the delivery of your telecommunications each day?
When Jay hosted me at Endeavor's offices in Cloverdale, he showed me how the system works behind the scenes and the absolute VALUE that Endeavor delivers to its customers. He also shared with me some strategic and tactical insight into the company's efforts to serve Morgan County and how it will positively affect customers in the Mooresville and Monrovia communities and the rural area in between the two towns. The countryside is "getting all lit up" with speed and service!
In 2017, Endeavor lit up a large portion of public space for residents and guests of Mooresville. Are you planning to take a hike in Mooresville's Pioneer Park? Take your smart phone with you because the town government partnered with Endeavor to deliver wireless broadband services in the park. And, as you are reading this, your business may well be one of more than sixty businesses that committed their confidence to Endeavor during a local sales blitz that complemented the increased service throughout Mooresville. New school, Indiana Agriculture & Technology, helps grow future farmers

Every summer for the past several years, 14-year-old Jack Heller has helped bale hay for a farmer who is a childhood friend of his father.
That experience has led Jack to an interest in agriculture, though he hopes to pursue a more science or engineering-based career track working with farm machinery.
"I don't know how to operate machinery, but I know a lot of the ins and outs of farming," the New Palestine eighth-grader said.
That's why he's hoping to be in the first class to graduate from the Indiana Agriculture & Technology School, a free public charter school.
Jack recently enrolled in the school, which will serve students in grades 7 through 12. He attended an information session for prospective students Wednesday at the Ivy Tech Community College campus in Anderson.
"Basically, I want to learn all the stuff I need to go to college. Mostly, it's nice to get hands-on experience you don't get in public school. That can get you ahead, you know," he said.
Thomas Sutherlin, director of enrollment for the school, said it was his father, Allan Sutherlin, who initially came up with the idea for the school because of his own youth on a Putnam County farm that led him to study agriculture at Purdue University.
"He said, 'How can we generate interest? How ca
n we grow this next generation of farmers?'" Sutherlin said.
Sponsored by the Trafalgar-based Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corp., Sutherlin's dream will come true when the school goes live online on July 30.
