On March 5, the MMC Medical Affairs Clinical Informatics team began offering MMC physicians and APPs the opportunity to directly call the team for Epic support. We will staff the provider support telephone line, 662-0999 , Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., excluding hospital holidays.

Updates in Hemostasis and Thrombosis: VTE Order Sets & Update on DOACs (Direct Oral AntiCoagulants)

VTE order set: Last November, the “Pulmonary Embolism Diagnostics” and “Venous Thromboembolism Treatment” order sets became available in Epic. The PE diagnostic order set was developed to ensure that all vital information (lab testing, imaging, consults, etc.) were ordered to appropriately risk stratify patients with pulmonary embolism.

Voice Recognition Impacts Radiology Reports

In January, a new system for generation of Radiology reports was implemented. The report is now generated with Voice Recognition technology.

New Patient Wristbands Coming Soon

In a few weeks, the Maine Medical Center will roll out new patient wristbands at Bramhall. No more stickers; new printers print directly onto the wristbands, which require quick assembly. The new wristbands have no character limit, allowing for full patient names to be shown.  

Palliative Medicine: Supporting Our Pediatric Patients and Their Families

The Pediatric Palliative Medicine team, the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT), is a growing part of the greater Palliative Medicine program at Maine Medical Center. PACT is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of clinicians, focused on providing support to pediatric patients and families whose lives have been impacted by serious, complex and chronic illness.

What Is a Health Career Pipeline?
