Dr. Christie, who provided a seminar on electronic portfolios and Google Sites at the start of the school year, has founded a non-profit called Tynkertopia.
Tynkertopia is a community center opening in Flagstaff in early July! It is a safe, welcoming and FREE space filled with opportunities to play, invent, build, explore and tinker!
Tynkertopia is designed for kids, parents, teachers to build STEM/ STEAM skills.
Dr. Christie hopes you will clean out your closets, garages, craft rooms, and workrooms and bring bags of “stuff” to FALA to help her collect interesting, recycled things kids and teachers can use at Tynkertopia. In addition, she is partnering with Savers and all items she can’t use at Tynkertopia will go to Savers.
So, pack up those old clothes, tools, games, puzzles, books, art supplies, outdated, broken electronics, and more - and bring them to FALA to the Art Patio to assist Dr. Christie and Tynkertopia. She will also gladly accept tables and chairs, exercise balls, or any furniture that kids will enjoy!
And be sure to visit Tynkertopia after the grand opening in July!
