Greetings!

We'd like to thank everyone who came to the Party in the Park last Sunday. Even with the hot temperatures, we loved seeing so many folks enjoying your new park. As Bill Holtry mentioned in his remarks, it's hoped a gathering like this can become an annual event - perhaps an anniversary affair for the Berkshire Community Park.

It took a huge effort on the part of the Township staff, trustees and resident volunteers to turn a vision into a reality. We're grateful to every person and organization for their help. A special thanks goes to the Delaware County Master Gardeners whose generous donation to the Learning Garden kicked off its creation, and to the United Way of Delaware County for the beautiful Born Learning Trail. Through their partnership with the Big Walnut High School National Art Honor Society and the Delaware Campus of Columbus State Community College, it's easy for us to claim "The Best Born Learning Trail around!" One more important announcement - this coming Tuesday (10/3) at 6:00 p.m. the County and NBBJ will hold a special meeting to gather input from Berkshire Township residents on the future planning and development of the 36-37 corridor between Delaware City and Sunbury. Please try to attend this meeting, as our township is a major stakeholder in this corridor and we want your voices heard. This is not about a southern exit - it IS about improving the corridor that already exists. It will be held at the Township Hall. Sincerely,
Rod Myers, Bill Holtry and Mike Dattilo, Township Trustees

2017-2018 TRASH AND RECYCLE COLLECTION CALENDAR

With regards to trash and recycling cans, we encourage you to always collect the empty cans on Fridays as high winds may cause them to blow over into the road, creating a traffic hazard.
(It keeps our streets and neighborhoods looking nicer, too.)

Please contact REPUBLIC WASTE at 800-601-1867 or at the number on your invoice if you have any questions or issues with your service.
New to the township? Republic Waste is the single authorized trash hauler for Berkshire residents, so please call them to subscribe and be sure to tell them
you are on the Berkshire Township contract.
