If you haven’t heard of the
No One Dies Alone
program, or NODA, at Hospice of Santa Barbara, you probably aren’t the only one. NODA isn’t one of our high-profile programs, but it really does have a meaningful impact during a person’s last few hours of life, and is an initiative more people in our community
should
get to know.
The NODA program is a collaborative effort between HSB, Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care, and local residential facilities. Trained volunteers bring comfort and compassion to those we serve in the last 48-72 hours of life who may not have friends or family nearby during their greatest time of need. As the name of the program indicates, volunteers are there to ensure
No One Dies Alone.
When a person is facing their end-of-life journey, simply knowing someone is there with them can make all the difference, and provide the comfort needed to find peace. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer, we encourage you to give us a call to learn more.
