If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

As our school begins to enter the Holy Week
which Christians around the world celebrate,
it behooves us to remember again
the preeminent redemption story given to man.

How a man went from being a king to a thief in only a week.
How quickly the crowd changes their cry from "Hosanna" to "Crucify!"
How the one who came to serve so many was betrayed for a bag of money.
How the devil's desire to overthrow and reign became his very own undoing.

How a wounded and stricken body became the balm of healing for the nations.
How a cross meant to shame and despise turned to an emblem of eternal glory.
How death's fiercest blow brought eternal life to our wounded souls.
How the curse of hell and sin became the key that unlocked heaven.

How resurrection power came to live in the dead hearts of men.
How defeat becomes victory.
Hatred is overcome by love.
Strength made perfect in weakness.
And the bitter grave made sweet by the Prince of Life.

Of any and all days, Easter gives us the assurance that
No challenge is too daunting, no darkness too haunting,
and no situation too wanting that God's power cannot overcome.

In honor of our poetry week, I recommend a much better poem,
George Herbert's The Sacrifice as a gift for you to enjoy this holiday.

Blood Drive
April 28, 2018

The CCS National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross!   We are coming together as a school community to donate blood on Saturday, April 28th from 9:00-2:00.  The drive will be hosted at the CCS Upper School (746 Worthington Road).  Each unit of blood received can impact 3 lives!   Our goal is to collect 40 units of blood, meaning we have the opportunity to impact 120 lives in a single Saturday morning!

To schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcrossblood.org and use the Sponsor Code:   CCS Spartans

Students age 16 and older are eligible to donate with parental consent.   See this link for other donor eligibility requirements.   Even if you are unable to donate, we would love your help to recruit donors!    Share this info with your parents, friends, family, neighbors, coaches, etc.   If you have any questions, please contact NHS Advisor Evan Beyer ( [email protected]).

Thanks!   We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 28th!

Student Tutors.  If you are in need of a tutor for your student, here are a list of National Honor Society students who are willing to tutor younger students.  Details are provided here.
