More than 185 Attend
Spring Conference to Network, Learn
About 188 people attended the MAFP Spring Conference in Jackson in April, with a breakdown of 53 physicians, 89 residents and students, 19 family members, 36 exhibitors, 5 staff and 15 speakers. The physician attendance represents a 15% increase over 2017 attendance, and a 33% resident and student increase over 2017. Many thanks to Aledade for sponsoring the Saturday luncheon, and Blue Cross Blue Shield for sponsoring the Saturday crawfish boil.

MAFP Membership Directory Released
This week, MAFP will release its electronic member directory in PDF format, which is in response to member demand and a call to "go green" by using less paper. Members need to know the password in order to access the protected file. BE LOOKING FOR A MEMBERS-ONLY EMAIL WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ACCESS THE DIGITAL DIRECTORY.

At Spring Conference, MAFP introduced two new logo items for purchase and members responded enthusiastically!
A unisex rain jacket is available in blue and gray for $45, and a mens' and ladies' quarter-zip shirt is available in navy heather and charcoal heather for $35. The logo is featured on the left chest of both items.

Medicaid Medical Supplies Change
To Take Effect September 1
Only medical supplies and equipment and appliances ordered by a PHYSICIAN are covered and reimbursed under the Medicaid program as of September 1, 2018, according to a release put out by the Mississippi Division of Medicaid.
Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers are required to specify the ordering physician's National Provider Identifier on any claim for payment to maintain compliance. For more information regarding ordering requirements contact OMS at (601) 359-6150.
