CAC Takes Home Arts and Culture Prize!
On Tuesday, May 1st, Cinema Arts Centre overcame stiff competition to take home The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation Arts & Culture Award at the 2018 Long Island Imagine Awards presented by Cerini & Associates, LLP . It was a big surprise for Co-Directors, Dylan Skolnick and Charlotte Sky who didn’t expect to win that evening.

CAC had been finalists at the Imagine Awards a few years back and our staff was thrilled to be in the running once again. During the ceremony, pre-produced video segments were shown to the audience, displaying each organization’s story through images and interviews. We’re fortunate to show the video to you, exclusively. (See above.)

When the winner was announced, Dylan and Char sprung up in excitement and shock as they approached the stage to accept the $5,000 check. Minutes later, Dylan was text-messaging his staff with exclamations of joy. We were all celebrating that evening in our respective homes.

We’re proud to share this award with our entire CAC family (staff, board, and members ) as we celebrate our own history and cultural impact on Long Island. This honor belongs to all of us - especially our members who make all of our programs possible.

SEAT REPLACEMENT UPDATE:

During last year's annual campaign we reserved a portion of funds raised for seat replacement. Funds raised through sales of seat plaques have also been reserved for seat replacement. However, the timeline of this project has changed. Originally scheduled for fall, and then winter, we are now waiting for a third party issue to be resolved before we can set a new date for replacing our seats in cinemas one and two. All funds contributed specifically for seat replacement are being held aside for this project, which we are committed to seeing through. We will continue to provide updates as the timeline becomes more clear.

THANK YOU.
