2019 Public Safety Plan Preview

This is shaping up to be a big year for the City's Public Safety Plan. After extensive preparation over the last two years, we are finally ready to begin construction in 2019 on Fire Stations 51 & 52, as well as the Tukwila Justice Center.  View the video presentation from the January 22, 2019 Council Meeting below for a preview of all the project updates expected this year.

The Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP)

The City of Tukwila Public Works Department has a new program aimed to calm traffic on residential streets. Any resident or association (such as a Homeowner's Association) is eligible to enroll a street in the NTCP. A request should be made in writing, either by physical letter or by email. Requests must include a contact name, address, phone number, and email address.

Anonymous requests and complaints are not accepted. Requests should include a description of the location and the specific problem that needs to be addressed. From there, staff will begin looking into the individual concerns, work with the residents, and develop a plan of action. If you are interested in enrolling in the program or have any questions, please contact Cyndy Knighton, Senior Program Manager, at 206-431-1164 or  [email protected] .

The City of Tukwila Scholarship Program was established in 2014. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals enrolled for undergraduate study in community colleges, colleges, trade schools and universities.
