Here is an update of what is happening at House of Prayer this week!
|
And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one. John 17:11
The gospel this Sunday features Jesus' final prayer. He prays for God's protection for the disciples and that they would be "one." Jesus asks God to help the disciples and future followers of Jesus be united and stay connected to one another. Unity does not mean uniformity. Unity requires seeing in those who are different a fundamental connection. Maintaining unity within the church and world requires prayer and the intervention of the Spirit, but if we stay united God will use our lives to give witness to the world. Join us Sunday!

Richfield City Council Talks Housing

The City Council has a work session planned for 6pm on Monday, May 21st at City Hall (67th and Portland). We hope you can come to this work session to hear what the council discusses and show your support for our neighbors whose homes are in jeopardy. Please contact Paula Kiehl (

There is a collection bin in the narthex through mid-May for your donations. Spanish books are especially needed. They are available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other local book retailers. Of interest to this age group include these series: Diaro de Greg, Diario de Nikki, Elefante y Cerdita and Escalafrios.

Community Garden
As the warm spring sunshine encourages new growth, we too are encouraged to "get back out there" and turn some soil in God's Creation. The HOP community garden is always welcoming new ideas and helpers. After several years as dedicated VEAP gardeners, Sandy Jenson and Kim Houle would like to pass the pitchforks to someone new who may have a future vision for what this urban garden can be. If you are interested in managing or helping please contact Kim Houle at 612-558-0634.
