Online registration for the 2018-19 season is officially open! Current students are able to register through the
Parent Portal

Auditions will take place May 30-June 16.
All currently enrolled musicians--
including marching band students
--must audition in June. The deadline to register is
Monday, May 21 at 12 NOON
.
Audition assignments will be emailed out to families on
Friday, May 25
. If you are traveling in the summer, we recommend you plan your trip for after the audition.

Baby and Me Guest Performer
Would you like to be a guest performer for young children? SDYS is seeking Conservatory musicians to be featured on a Friday morning "Baby and Me Music Class" in Balboa Park. Be a guest performer for 0-4 year olds and their caregivers, playing a piece of music of your choice as well as a classic kid favorite: Itsy Bitsy Spider? Wheels on the Bus? Guest performers needed from
10:45am--12:15pm on these dates:
This opportunity is particularly great for students who are home-schooled and can be counted for community service hours.

We are accepting wind and string instruments that will all be going to conservatory and community
students that need them. You can drop them off Monday - Friday during regular business hours, or
on the weekends during rehearsals.
We have an immediate need for trombones!

SDYS Musicians Attend City Council Meeting

Thank you to Mia and Cameron Redelings for being a part of the City Council Budget meeting this past Tuesday. Having them there to represent SDYS and advocate for the arts was a true honor!

Kaavya Raamkumar (Concert Orchestra, Violin I)
has been selected as the Concertmaster of the 2018 San Diego All-County Middle School Honor String Orchestra. This is her second year of acceptance into the Honor Orchestra. Kudos, Kaavya!
Maximus Chan (Sinfonia and Wind Symphony, Principle Oboe)
has been selected to participate in the Sunset Chamberfest Young Composers’ Workshop in June. Kudos, Max!
