Weekly Update - May 11, 2018
Dear SMCS Families,
I can't begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed my role as the interim principal. Your children make me smile each day. Their creativity, energy and talent brings such joy to SMCS.  The last few weeks of school is always a busy time of year for all of us! Kindergarten Round-Up was a huge success! This year we are excited to welcome 20 beautiful children to Ms. Wineman's Kindergarten class for the fall. Thank you to our new parent ambassador leaders who are working hard to welcome 16 new families to our amazing community.
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th graders, teachers and parents for working hard to put on a fabulous play, Alice in Wonderland! I am always so amazed to witness the teamwork, time and talent that goes into the behind the scenes up until the final performance. A special thank you to Doug Fossum who managed the sound and lighting. Doug was instrumental in helping us receive a grant from Catholic United Financial to donate the lighting and drapery on both sides of the stage.
As we prepare for wrapping up this school year and start planning for next year, I wanted to make you aware of a few staff changes.  Mrs. Amy Ascheman and Mrs. Kris Hall have decided not to return to SMCS.  I would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication to our school. We will pray for Mrs. Ascheman and Mrs. Hall as they continue their future endeavors.
The long term principal, Mrs. Mary Yamoah, will be officially starting in early July. I have been busy taking notes to prepare for her arrival.  Please watch for more important information including the 2018-19 calendar, uniform sales, family handbook, busing information etc. Please contact Darlene Casey at [email protected] with any other questions regarding back to school.
We have so much to be grateful for because of YOU. Happy Mother's Day, and have a peaceful weekend with your family.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kate Hamill

Daily Mass will be taking place in the chapel prior to the concert. Utmost respect and quiet is needed. Please enter through the doors in the lower parking lot if possible.

Please enjoy the art show in the school from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Then, all students will warm-up in Archangels Hall at 6:30 pm. Please keep your student with you until warm-up time.

Doors for the concert will open at 6:30 pm.

Please also consider purchasing a video from the concert. It is professionally well produced, and the product is wonderful. It is a great keepsake to look back upon when you want to remember your child as he/she was in grade school.

Faithful Beginnings Summer Program
Faithful Beginnings at St. Michael Catholic School is excited to launch our Preschool Summer Program!  We have spent countless hours planning a fun, engaging, educational preschool program.  Registration was opened for families that are registered for the 2018-2019 school year.

Mrs. Melanie Brower will be our lead supervisor throughout the summer.  I will be joining in on the fun a couple days a week.  We are working on staffing assistant teacher positions as well.

If your child will be attending kindergarten in the fall, they would qualify to attend Summer Adventures Plus, our school-age program.

If know of anyone interested, please pass this along!  We will be maxing our program at 18-20 students per day
