Strafford Regional Planning Commission
Announces New Executive Director
ROCHESTER, NH -  We are very pleased to announce that Jennifer Czysz has accepted the position of executive director at Strafford Regional Planning Commission (SRPC). Jen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, and we are very excited to welcome her to SRPC.

Most recently the assistant director at Nashua Regional Planning Commission (NRPC), Jen received her bachelor's degree in architecture from Norwich University, and a Master in City Planning (MCP) degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At NRPC, Jen served as project manager for the largest coordinated planning initiative in NH in over 25 years , the Granite State Future project. This project was supported by a $3 million HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant and involved all nine planning commissions in the state.

Prior to beginning at NRPC in 2011, Jen served as a senior planner at what was formerly the NH Office of Energy and Planning and as a planner at Southern NH Planning Commission (SNHPC). Other professional involvement includes serving as president and vice president of the NH Planner's Association and as State Director for the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association (NNECAPA). Jen also worked with the Peace Corp in West Africa as a community development/public health volunteer.

Jen will be starting in her new role on Tuesday, May 29. Speaking to this new chapter Jen shared, "It is an honor to join the team at Strafford Regional Planning Commission. New Hampshire's Regional Planning Commissions serve as an important resource and asset for their member municipalities. Through the regional planning framework, we are able to not only serve as a direct liaison between municipalities and federal and state agencies, but expand our collective impact planning for transportation, land use, economic development and natural resource protection. I forward to getting to know the 18 communities in the SRPC region and collaborating to achieve our visions for the future."

Commissioners, colleagues and friends will have the opportunity to hear from and meet Jen at the SRPC Annual Luncheon on Thursday, June 28. We are excited to have Jen on board, and hope you will help us welcome her to the region come June.
